Bespoke ERP System Training Development
for Enterprise Digital Adoption
Bespoke Training Development for Enterprise Digital Adoption
We have supported numerous training programmes for IT system and ERP implementations, utilising different digital adoption platforms and tools. Although the tools we use are powerful in terms of content development, they are not always an ‘out-of-the-box’ solution. ERP training projects for digital adoption usually involve the development and sign-off of hundreds of system or job role processes. Proven methods are essential if the development team is to work effectively and achieve targets, in terms of both time and budget.
Our proven methodologies for bespoke ERP system training have evolved into a comprehensive set of services, delivered as individual workshops or a managed service, designed to bring significant additional value to our clients. This can include:
Discovery Workshop
Before we commence any eLearning content development project, we facilitate a Discovery Workshop to align our development process to your learning objectives and the findings of your Learning Needs Analysis and Learning Strategy. These sessions ensure your team is fully prepared to implement your chosen eLearning content development tool and start with a deep dive into the features and functions to ensure the final eLearning content and deployment methods support your learners’ needs. This allows the Team to collaborate and agree the best instructional design methods to build and sign off a Prototype course, laying the groundwork to plan an effective development project.
Our Discovery Workshop covers the key areas outlined below:

Instructional Design
Applying proven learning theories and design models to create engaging, relevant and impactful training. We analyse training needs to identify required learning outcomes and define appropriate training strategies, ensuring content is tailored to learner needs, skill levels and job roles.

Accessibility
Integrating accessibility best practices ensures compliance with recognised standards such as WCAG, i.e. intuitive navigation for keyboard users, alternative text, colour contrast, closed captions and transcripts. We also consider cognitive accessibility, i.e. simplifying language where appropriate and providing consistent layouts to support ease of use for all learners.

Prototype
A prototype course is created which incorporates the findings and decisions from the collaborative discussions around instructional design and accessibility. Typically this is a small area of the outline identified for development and allows stakeholders and the project team to visualise the potential end solution and fine tune the design until the requirement is approved for development.

Content Standards
Informed by the approved Prototype, the content
development standards provide the guidelines to build your eLearning content and ensure a consistent look and feel is achieved across all modules. They establish clear paramters for branding and visual design, layouts, assets, language and accessibility in order to streamline the production phase and minimise revision cycles.

Project Scope
A comprehensive review of the development requirements, including dependencies such as recording environment, development methodology, readiness and prerequisites. The finalised scope document will inform the time, resources and budget required to achieve the project objectives. The Scope Report enables us to provide a fixed price to ensure we can meet the required budget and timelines.

Work Plan
A detailed Work Plan is created to serve as the project’s central roadmap, illustrating resource availability, allocation and their responsibilities across a defined activity timeline to meet an agreed deadline. It highlights key milestones for team alignment and provides the mechanism for real-time monitoring by tracking actual effort against predicted estimates.

Storyboarding
A wireframe of a training course down to page level detailing each learning interaction with on-screen text, media, development details and incorporating instructional design principles. This enables accurate scoping and approval of development effort.

Reporting
To implement a successful project and ensure smooth delivery and communication throughout the lifecycle, a reporting workflow is initiated. The assigned Project Manager will track progress against the original work plan and provide daily updates and a Weekly Status Report that utilises a RAG system to alert the wider team of risk and issues when necessary.
Our Experience
Our bespoke ERP system training experience spans all business streams including Finance, P2P, HR/Payroll, SCM, CRM, Retail, Talent Management, BI and Reporting. Our Content Developers have worked with most enterprise applications including Oracle, SAP, Workday and Microsoft, as well as many bespoke applications.
Our objective approach, extensive experience and expertise within the digital adoption technology arena ensures we are perfectly placed to develop learning content to support your enterprise system rollout. Each of our clients is a reference and willing (subject to NDA) to discuss their experience of working with the Larmer Brown team.
I question whether we would have been able to bring anything as a deliverable to the project on time, had we not gone the route of partnership with Larmer Brown
The advice I would give to other authorities or organisations is to choose an implementation partner who really understands the product and can analyse the needs of the project; Larmer Brown met these criteria and exceeded our expectations
Digital Adoption Platform and Tools
We have utilised several digital adoption platforms and performance support tools in our content development projects, including Oracle User Productivity Kit, SAP Enable Now, WalkMe and Epilogue Opus, as well as dominKnow Capture.
